Sgt. Doug DUPIN was stationed in Hanna in December 2001. Originally from the Melfort, Saskatchewan area, he joined the RCMP in 1981 and has been posted at the Bow Island, Red Earth Creek, Medicine Hat, Oyen, Drumheller, and Milk River detachments. Doug is married with two children at home. He enjoys hunting, fishing and camping. Sgt. DUPIN has been transferred to Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET) during the summer of 2006.
Cst. Larry PEYTON was posted to the Hanna Detachment in April 2002. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, he graduated with a B.A. with University Honours from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. At the RCMP Training Academy, Larry was chosen by his troop to be awarded the Royal Canadian Legion Award for the member who best exemplified the core values of the RCMP. His main hobbies are obedience training his rottweiler and weight-training in the gym. Cst. PEYTON was transferred to the Southern Alberta Marihuana Investigation Team (SAMIT) durning the summer of 2006.
Cst. Brad MALACKO was posted to the Hanna Detachment in April 2001, which was his first posting. Cst. MALACKO spent over three years at this detachment, and stated that he will always remember his time in Hanna. Cst. MALACKO was very involved with sports in the community; he played hockey with a local team, coached a high school volleyball team, and participated in organized golfing events. Cst. MALACKO was transferred to the Lake Louise RCMP Detachment in July of 2004.
Cst. Jim BYLSMA was posted to Hanna in July 1993. He joined the Force in 1974 at St. Catharines, Ontario. Jim was born in Holland and immigrated to Canada with his family. He had been posted in Banff, Drumheller, Rocky Mountain House, Elk Point and Pincher Creek prior to arriving in Hanna. In July 2003, after ten years of service to the residents of Hanna and surrounding areas, Jim retired from the RCMP. Here's wishes of best of luck to a great member of the Force!
Cst. Sonny KIM took his first posting with the RCMP in Hanna, arriving in November of 1998. Cst. KIM spent over 4 years working at this detachment, and stated that he enjoyed working with the members and serving the community. Cst. KIM was involved with several committees and organizations, including Rural Crime Watch and DARE. In May of 2003, Cst. KIM was transferred to the Athabasca RCMP Detachment.
Cst. Lee GRIECO-SAVOY was posted to the Hanna Detachment in November 2003. Originally from Toronto, Cst. GRIECO-SAVOY's previous postings include Biggar, Saskatchewan; Ottawa, Ontario; and Kindersley, Saskatchewan. "Cst. Lee" spent over two years at the Hanna Detachment; she was transferred to the Wetaskiwin RCMP Detachment in January 2006 .
