RCMP Park was named in April 1974 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the arrival of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta.
This park is located in the recreation area south of the outdoor swimming pool and has benches, picnic tables and play equipment for children 5-7 years of age. With the well established trees and space for children to run, it is an attractive place for families to visit, have a picnic or watch the activities at the outdoor pool.
Prior to Hanna's Centennial celebrations in 2012, a local artist, Donna Brink, was commissioned to paint the cement cairn in the park. She painted RCMP members on horseback, wearing uniforms from 1874 to 2000. Also, in 2012 the members of the local detachment of the RCMP commissioned a new sign for the park entrance, depicting members of the RCMP musical ride.
