Community Youth Fund
The Hanna Community Youth Fund is administered by the Town of Hanna but supported solely through generous donations of individuals, businesses and organizations to provide support for youth to be involved in sports or culture when their families cannot cover the entire cost. There is a review committee consisting of representation from Child and Family Services, Hanna RCMP, Community Services, Mental Health and Addictions Services and the Family Resource Worker Program.
Funding is sent directly to the organization on behalf of the youth. There is a stipulation that should the youth not participate in their program - the funds be returned to assist others.
From 2005 through 2018, the Hanna Community Youth Fund assisted 103 youth to participate in 48 programs providing funding in the amount of $27,234.00.
KidSport is a national not-for-profit organization that provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. Since its creation in 1993, over 450,000 kids in Canada have been given the chance to play sport through KidSport grants and sport introduction programming.
From 1998 to 2017, Kidsport Hanna has assisted 268 youth providing funding in the amount of $44,388.00.
