Ph: (403) 854-3983   The Town of Hanna Swimming Pool is located at 402 - 3rd Avenue West.  The outdoor pool is utilized for various activities which include: swimming lessons, public swimming, aqua-fit classes and organized swim activities, just to name a few.

The usual opening date of the pool is the long weekend in May.  Watch for future updates.

In the spring of 2004, the Hanna Town Council accepted the Hanna Community Swimming Pool Assessment and Condition Study.  This study definitely substantiated and validated the need to replace the existing pool; the current pool has reached and exceeded all lifecycle thresholds.

In January 2004, Town Council approved the membership and Terms of Reference for a Community Pool Replacement Committee.  This Committee was charged with the responsibility of identifying the function and operation costs associated with the recommended pool facility replacement.

The Community Pool Replacement Committee consists of Co-Chairpersons: Doug Fleming & Darcy Ferguson; Directors: Lynette Barker, Shannon Gross, Gloria Hutton, Darryl Siddon, Caroline Siverson and Cathy Sommerville.

Alberta's Centennial Legacy Grant provided the initiative for this important community project to move forward when $400,000 was awarded towards the outdoor community swimming pool.  The Town of Hanna received notification of their successful application in the fall of 2004 and has been working with the Community Pool Replacement Committee to ensure that the facility will continue to meet the needs of localcitizens for many years in the future.

The project cost is $1.9 Million dollars.  Thank you to the Alberta's Centennial Legacy Grant and we encourage like-minded leaders to join together with this outstanding project.  Please help make the Hanna & District Community Swimming Pool a reality and working together, building a legacy for the future!  Your generosity today will help build a stronger community and enhance the quality of life.
